SP_129

Trying out the Jose Morales technique, A billion things wrong in the painting but more fun and exciting to paint than copying everything.

viruses suck

Apologies about not posting the latest photo and not posting myself for the begining of this new week.
My laptop has been infected with tons of viruses and I can't get past this thing that keeps popping up called Security Shield. Once I get my hard drives back from Diana, I'll save out my files and do a complete recovery. Then re-install all the stuff I had on there.

Sorry about the delay. Hope your vacations have been full of rest and relaxation.

If you have any suggestions on how to fix this problem other than a complete system whipe and recovery...
I'm all ears.

Week 2!! post #8

So... here's the deal for week 2 of the speed paintings...
They're all B&W.
So, when you paint them, you have to add your own color palette to them and still make the values work. (please note: Selecting your color palette does not dip into your 1 hour time to paint.)

I'm super stoked to see what will happen with this new twist!!
Here's a quick one. 30 minutes, half asleep, after 3 different family christmas parties.

Day 7!!

This is the last photo of this still life. I promise.

late I know... (sorry)

Wow, information overload with this painting! I definetly need to be squinting WAY more..

The Skinny about this blog...

Hey guys,
This blog is meant for us to keep the rust from building up on our painting skills throughout the break.
Every day at 12 noon I, or whoever is in charge of posting photos that week, will post 1 photo for everyone to do a 1 hour speed painting from.

Criteria of photo's being selected should include the following..
*Simple Compositions (ish)
*3 different texture samples
*Good color choices (in relationships, and work harmoniously with the composition)
*Clear realm of the light and dark
*Good variety in hard and soft edges
These qualities are by no means finite. If an image you found is awesome, post it for others to learn from!

After your hour is up, please post your work on the blog for everyone to check out and give helpful crits if they so choose.
Spread the word and keep up the good work!
