your color is good. Just paint more and be more critical I guess. Nothing much wrong here. You know what to do. For the background if you want to make it quick utilize the gradient tool which is in the paint bucket tool. Use that to make a gradient from dark grey blue to light blue so that you'll have a better transition. However if you like to just paint it.
