I tried painting this while talking on the phone. Don't know how long I spent on it exactly, but it felt like an hour (ish). Palette is from a Norman Rockwell painting.
have a sense of how everything feels.. i see the same brushstrokes on everything.. I know this is hard.. but if you could make your strokes define more the feeling of whatever thing. the person who sees it would feel youu:)
aahh and rememberr dont be a slave of your reference.. or a photo.. what I had seen from masters.. is that they make it up.. color brushstrokes and everything..they dont paint what they see.. they paint what they want you to see..... see Robert Henri..
getting better:) a little bit more simplified and u get it..:)
ReplyDeletei think this is a perfect example of how u can use your artistic skills to focus on whats really important.. nothing is important.. only the lady...
ReplyDeleteis obvious.. but instead of spending time on the background, spend time on the lady.. if that matters to you the most.....refine it.. and move on..
